So...here's why I haven't been focusing my camera lately....
The new basement floor...
The rest of the basement...
The family room...
The breakfast room waiting for it's new floor (the chair is there so we don't bump our heads on the light fixture).

My "Helpers"
We are painting the laundry room for what may be the first time since we've lived in this house! It definitely needed a coat of primer. Since there wasn't any floor to worry about, I figured it was a good time to teach the boys how to paint. This is not recommended for those who are 'painting perfectionists'! I'm not thrilled with the quality of the photo (I was playing around with the mps...this is a 3mp compared with the others which are 7mp), but it's what was happening yesterday. The room is being painted white, by the way, in this photo, despite the fact that it looks yellow.

Day Two...An Assignment
I found a photography course on-line...and free at http://www.morguefile.com/forum/index.php?c=6. Assignment one was to take an abstract picture using what we learned about composition and lines. It was supposed to be unrecognizable, however I can't seem to figure out the zoom well enough to make these that close. I have three favorites -- please pass on any advice you might have on how I can improve. Thanks!

Day One...the Bee
I got a new camera! Based on what I am learning from several different websites and blogs, I want to take at least one 'printable' picture each day until I really learn how this thing works...may take me years.
I probably took 200 shots trying to get a picture of this stupid bee in midair...I finally gave up and decided to be happy with this one. I like the way you can see the details of his wings.
